Onward and upward: Journalist Owen Watts departs SCA

Onward and upward. That’s the admirable attitude of journalist Owen Watts as his time with SCA officially comes to an end.

After five months presenting news on the Triple M and Hit Networks across Albury, Gippsland and the Goulburn Valley, Owen’s role was among those made redundant under SCA’s recently-confirmed revamp of its news operations.

“Being made redundant was unexpected, but I leave with immense pride in the work I’ve done and deep gratitude,” Owen said on LinkedIn.

“I’m so grateful to have had this start to my journalism career and I want to thank the amazing people I’ve worked alongside during the journey – especially James Royce, James Lake, Anne Stone and the whole Melbourne newsroom!”

Looking ahead to what’s next, Owen says he is open to new opportunities in journalism, media, or communications and ready for the next chapter.
