Karl Stefanovic stands aside from this week’s edition of ARN’s The Long Weekend

Reporter

The Long Weekend on ARN’s GOLD Network is set to go ahead tomorrow minus Karl Stefanovic, amid uncertainty over his future at Channel Nine.

Nine Entertainment’s Sydney Morning Herald (subscription required) reports that the Today Show host and Nine are negotiating details of an early exit from the rest of his contract, after a controversial episode of his independent Karl Stefanovic Show podcast was removed from his feed but later re-uploaded on Pauline Hanson‘s YouTube channel.

And so this week, it looks like Stefanovic’s radio co-host Eddie McGuire could well be flying solo.

ARN has confirmed The Long Weekend will go ahead tomorrow, but without Stefanovic, who has made the decision to stand aside – though no long-term decisions have been made.

Listening to todays show… do they actually need Karl? More space for Toni and Georgia. Less ego, more personable

Missed opportunity.

ARN should have strongly encouraged Karl to appear on the show that’s in its infancy. Maybe they just couldn’t stomach it given the recent issues?

It would have rated its ass off.
Sure MFW would have thrown their weight around but it would have been great radio.
Eddie would have known how to keep it under control and get the best out of it.

Karl could have suppressed the red pill calls and shown he can still do traditional media and host a podcast.

Both Eddie and Karl have been in situations like this before and come out the other side.

It would be great to know who really called it off.
