The show goes on as Dan & Christie launch new daily podcast

Just days after the Hit Network’s top-rating Dan & Christie Breakfast show was axed, Dan Taylor and Christie Hayes have launched a new daily podcast.
Broadcasting from a caravan in New Norfolk, the first episode dropped this morning. Subsequent eps will be available five days a week from 5am, wherever you get your podcasts.
In the meantime, Newcastle’s Jess and Rohan are now broadcasting into Hobart from New South Wales on SCA’s Hit Network.

Two of the most talented broadcasters in the country! Unfathomable they have got the axe.
Clearly the suits have no idea.
That’s the attitude – no idea how the top rated brekkie show in Hobart got replaced with some hodunk crap. Most people would mope and do nothing after a redundancy, but these legends are getting on with it.
My guess is that Dan & Christie could eventually be back on broadcast radio, if/when an appropriate opening comes up somewhere. Even if that’s in another market, etc.
Afterall, look at Ned & Josh: Following their dumping from Hit 104.7 brekky in Late 2023, they podcasted for a bit before WIN Radio acquired their services. That duo now has a fairly decent gig as hosts of Nights on i98FM/C91.3 and given the current uncertainty around commercial radio in the major metropolis just North of that, you’d really have to say N&J could be in for an opportunity on Sydney or even national radio before too long.
Dan and Christie have something special – And they quickly took and held number one in their market. I’ll now tune into their podcast on my morning runs instead of Hit, but surely there’s another station out there who appreciates great talent and likes being number one! Awesome attitude and keep up the very solid work Dan and Christie.
So glad I was able to listen to them again today!
Why would a company get rid of the #1 rated duo in the area.
