Wiley secures world rights to new Christian O’Connell book

As Gold 104.3’s Christian O’Connell prepares to go national with his top-rating Breakfast show next year, publishing company Wiley has acquired the world rights to his book UNSCRIPT.

Due for release in July 2026, the book is a project he’s been working on for several years now, and represents everything he’s learned from the countless listeners who’ve trusted him with their stories and their truth.

O’Connell said on LinkedIn: “After 27 years in radio – creating number one breakfast shows in both the UK and Australia – I’ve learned that authentic human connection isn’t about perfection.”

O’Connell says today, we’re more disconnected than ever. Too busy trying to impress. Too focused on presenting a version of ourselves to the world rather than simply showing up as we are.

“Social media rewards curated filtered versions of us. We don’t need more content. We need more connection.”

In an increasingly artificial world, UNSCRIPT explores why we’ve forgotten how to simply be with each other, offering a path back to genuine connection.

“Grateful to share these lessons with a wider audience,” says O’Connell. “Real connection doesn’t come from getting it right – it comes from being real.”
