A real eye opener: Abbey Cullen hits the ground running in Broome & the Goldfields
Since taking on the role as Workday announcer on SCA’s Hit 101.3 Broome and Hit 97.9 Goldfields, Abbey Cullen has been soaking up every regional radio experience that comes her way.
In her first two months on-air, she’s already hosted live outside broadcasts from both Northam and Broome, an experience she says was a real eye opener.

“I feel as if my skills have truly developed since starting, and I’m loving the announcer I am becoming,” Abbey said on LinkedIn.
“Here’s to more yapping on the airwaves, more upskilling and to many more experiences across regional WA.”

Abbey – who previously hosted Workdays on Triple M 981 in the Goldfields – switched over to the HIT Network in August, taking the reins from Sian Parry when she headed to the UK.
Abbey made history by becoming the first female announcer for Triple M Goldfields, following in the footsteps of now City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor Glenn Wilson, who served nearly 16 years in the role.
