Vision Australia Radio teams with disability festival for live broadcast

Vision Australia Radio is once again presenting a Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Festival broadcast on Friday, December 2nd.

Coinciding with the International Day of People with Disability, the festival celebrates physically active lifestyles for all abilities. It offers the opportunity for everyone to explore accessible and inclusive sports and recreation through hands-on activities.

The festival will take place at Crown Riverwalk, Melbourne, 10am – 3pm.

There will be approximately 20 exhibitors and three activity zones where attendees can try the different inclusive sports and recreational activities and learn about programs within the community.

Other perks include meeting Paralympians and ambassadors.

This year’s broadcast will be the third time the network has broadcasted alongside the event and comes off the back of winning the Excellence in Outside Broadcasting category at the 2022 Community Radio Awards for the 2021 broadcast.

Known Vision Australia Radio presenters are delivering this year’s special broadcast, bringing experience to interviews with blind sports ambassadors, festival organisers, representatives from inclusive sporting codes and music by blind and low-vision musicians.

Listen to Vision Australia Radio services on AM/FM and DAB+ from 9:30am until 12pm.
