Triple M’s Tay Tay cover versions reveal surprise Swifties

Triple M’s Taylor Swift cover versions are uncovering more surprises (and secret Swifties) by the day.

The station has collaborated with some of Australia‘s pre-eminent rock artists, who’ve covered a selection of Swift’s greatest hits for the exclusive Triple M versions.

A new version is released each morning on Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show, as a special tribute to Swift ahead of her Australian tour.

And while the rock station is not typically the home of Taylor Swift – the unlikely combination is bringing surprise Swifties out of the woods, including Marty Sheargold, who says “I’m a 52-year-old man, and I don’t know why I love Taylor so much. The songwriting is incredible.”

The Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson reveals “I’m not a closeted Taylor Swift fan, I just love her.”

Paul Kelly says “She has really smart lyrics. Good melodies. I picked Anti-Hero because it’s a song I could get my teeth into.”

Birds of Tokyo covered the song Blank Space, and frontman Ian Kenny says “Taylor Swift has such an incredibly crafty way of playing with very spicy topics. We had the best time recording this, it was so much fun.”

The Triple M versions can be heard exclusively on Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show after 8:30am, and by streaming Triple M live on LiSTNR.
