Triple M’s $10,000 mistake?

Staff Writer

Last week, airing an Arctic Monkeys song cost Triple M Melbourne $10,000.

Listener Brett called the station to say he’d heard the acoustic version of Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High played twice during the No Repeat Workday.

Arvos announcer Higgo (left) took the phone call and handed over to Head of Rock Shaun Gough who confirmed the gaffe on air saying “shit”.

“I was going to go to Bali.”

This is the first time Triple M has been caught out with their No Repeat Workday and, when asked if it was a genuine mistake, Triple M declined to comment.

Have a listen to the audio and let us know if you think it was an accident or a clever stunt for the end of the survey period.
