Triple M Bundy raises $16k in Christmas toys for local families in need

Reporter

Triple M Bundy 93.1 has kicked off the festive season by rallying the community through the power of radio and raising more than $12,000 for Christmas toys for Bundaberg families doing it tough.

Breakfast hosts Jacob & El turned the funds into a reality: running through Toyworld to buy presents for kids who would otherwise go without.

All toys are donated to The Angels Community Group, a Bundaberg organisation supporting vulnerable families.

Last year, the Christmas Crusade reached more than 300 local families. This year, the effort has grown even further, with $12,000 raised and an additional $4,000 worth of toys donated by the community – resulting in more than $16,000 worth of toys (exceeding the goal of $15,000 set at the beginning of the campaign).

Broadcasting live from Toyworld and joined by Bundaberg Chief Inspector Grant Marcus and Federal Member for Hinkler, David Batt MP – Jacob & El celebrated the region’s generosity with a sausage sizzle, with listeners turning out to support the Crusade, and plenty of festive energy.

With more donations still rolling in and Triple M 93.1 still counting the final donations, the Christmas spirit is well and truly alive in Bundy.

Listen to Jacob & El on Bundy’s 93.1 Triple M from 6-9am weekdays, also on LiSTNR.
