Triple M announces all-star commentary line up for first cricket Test between Australia and India

Reporter

Triple M has bolstered its cricket commentary line up for the first Test between Australia and India, with Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee and Aaron Finch joining the call.

They will be joined by Mark Taylor AO, James Brayshaw, Mark Howard, Merv Hughes, Greg Blewett, Mark Waugh AM, Brad Haddin, Callum Ferguson and Isabelle Westbury for the historic five-Test series, the first on Australian soil.

Completing this line up is Lord Ian Botham OBE and Triple M’s Dan Ginnane and Jack Heverin.

This summer kicks off the Triple M Network’s new seven-year agreement, securing exclusive FM metro broadcast, digital audio, and DAB+ rights.

Cricket enthusiasts can catch all Australian men’s international games, including Tests, ODIs, and T20s, along with the women’s T20 internationals against England, live on Triple M and LiSTNR.

SCA Head of Sports Content Ewan Giles says “It doesn’t get much bigger than Johnson, Lee, and Finch joining our iconic lineup. These cricket greats add another layer of expertise and energy to one of the most accomplished commentary teams Triple M has ever assembled.”

The first five-day Test begins today, Friday, 22 November, as the Australian men’s team takes on India at Optus Stadium, Perth.

Listen live across the metro Triple M network or download the LiSTNR app.

Why so many ? Huge payroll but a waste of money. Most of us watch it on TV. Cricket is boring enough, but on radio (with ads) it’s worse. Better if MMM concentrated on music and let ABC do it.

Would this cost much, or does Triple M only have FM metro rights, so do they mostly piggyback off Foxtel’s commentary team so it doesn’t cost much to fulfil the FM rights deal

Easily the most entertaining cricket commentary I have ever heard! Good for a laugh, plenty of useless information and a good dose of piss taking.
