The Christian O’Connell Show makes Christmas brighter for 5000+ kids

Christmas just became a whole lot brighter for more than 5000 children across Melbourne – who would have gone without a single present this year, if not for a special radio fundraiser.

Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show launched its end of year fundraiser for Backpacks 4 VIC Kids several weeks ago.

The team initially wanted to raise 35K, and then 175K once that was quickly exceeded.

Highlighting the power of radio in trying times, the team has now received over $250K in donations.

It means every one of the 5000 families who requested help from this charity will get a present this year.

The fundraiser page includes loads of messages from those who’ve donated, including small business, listeners with not much themselves and others who did it in the name of their own children or loved ones who have passed.
