SEN celebrates audience growth as footy fans flock to AFL Trade Radio
AFL Trade Radio continues to be a popular go-to resource for footy fans, with Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) reporting significant year-on-year (YoY) growth.
SEN says this year’s trade period saw record engagement, with footy fans flocking to AFL Trade Radio in large numbers.
Stats for Deadline Day (Wednesday 16 October) included:
- Total Users: 324,914, an increase of 39% YoY
- Audio Minutes: Over 4.5 million minutes listened, up 25% YoY
- Video Minutes: 5 million minutes viewed, representing a 155% increase YoY
- Total Minutes: 9.5 million minutes of content consumed, reflecting 78% YoY growth
- Audio Users: 146,774, up 3% YoY
- Average of 31 minutes consumption per user on audio streams
SEN says across the three weeks, the AFL Trade Radio podcast was downloaded over 1.2 million times.
AFL Trade Radio was again available in 2024 to stream via audio or video on afl.com.au and the official AFL app.
Talent including Damian Barrett, Kane Cornes, Callum Twomey, Riley Beveridge, Sam Edmund, Tom Morris, Josh Gabelich, Sarah Olle, Brad Johnson, Josh Jenkins, Adam Cooney, Cam Luke, Mark Bickley and Dan Hannebery provided expert opinion and analysis across the three weeks.
Key trades such as the four-team mega deal involving Bailey Smith, Jack Macrae, Matt Kennedy and multiple draft picks, as well as Tom Barrass’s move to the Hawks and Daniel Rioli’s switch to the Suns drove significant consumption.
