Security alert as Triple M’s Mark ‘MG’ Geyer breaks protocol when meeting the King

This morning on Triple M’s Mick & MG in the Morning, Mark ‘MG’ Geyer revealed that security had to intervene when he met King Charles at an invitation-only barbecue in Sydney yesterday.

MG was told that the protocol was to only shake the King’s hand three times.

However, MG went for eight hand pumps!

Security stepped in, grabbing MG’s hands to get him to stop.

MG also shared a cheeky quip from the King, after New South Wales Premier Chris Minns introduced MG to the Charles as “a former NRL player and radio host on Triple M.”

Charles promptly commented that he looked like he could still be playing, before asking MG why he retired.

“Was it your knees? Was it your back?”

MG replied. “No it was my groin.” Charles responded “I know how you feel!”
