Mix102.3’s The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show has announced that Port Power’s Xavier Duursma and the Adelaide Crows’ Reilly O’Brien will be on the show as regular weekly AFL contributors throughout the season.

Both players will bring listeners behind-the-scenes insights from the Power and Adelaide camps.

O’Brien will appear live on air every Monday for the post round recap and Duursma every Wednesday to talk about the round ahead.

Ali Clarke is looking forward to having the boys join the show during the AFL season.

“I can’t wait to talk all things footy with these two. Yes, they’ll give us the latest from inside the Crows and Port camps, but I can’t wait to find out what goes on behind the scenes. Plus, I’m sure we’re going to come up with some surprises to keep them on their toes.”

Listeners got a small taste this week, with the boys appearing on the show ahead of the AFL season opening weekend.

O’Brien says “It will be good to get a test this week, I am excited about our game against GWS and can’t wait to get into it. We are all extra optimistic this year with the young guys!”

Duursma says “I am looking forward to playing Brisbane with  the massive crowds at Adelaide Oval.”

When asked by Ali about the recent AFL class action suit around concussion, Duursma said “The balance is hard with contact sport, there is a big payoff – you might be able to play this week versus long term repercussions.”

Head of KIIS Network, Derek Bargwanna says “Adelaideans are passionate about their footy and the two teams and The Ali Clarke Breakfast has made a promise to the people of Adelaide … no question will be off the table!”

With Ali’s husband, Matthew Clarke, in the coaching support team for the Crows and Max Burford a passionate Port Power supporter and Channel 10 sports presenter, listeners are assured their rivalry could make for some fiery on-air encounters.
