Nova 919’s Jodie & Hayesy step out of their comfort zone in The Rocky Horror Show

Jodie & Hayesy, Nova 919’s Adelaide’s breakfast team, made their stage debut over the weekend.

Overcoming their fears, they performed alongside Myf Warhurst and the cast of The Rocky Horror Show for the Timewarp, in front of a packed house at Adelaide’s Festival Theatre.

Jodie & Hayesy haven’t performed on stage or done anything like this before so it was a leap of faith to overcome their nerves and perform in front of a packed crowd.

The duo spent the last two weeks in choreography rehearsals, costume fittings and were put through a crash course in musical theatre paces in the lead up to the performance.

Andrew ‘Hayesy’ Hayes, faced one of his biggest fears – dancing in front of people.

New to breakfast radio since launching as co-host of Nova 919’s new breakfast show in January this year alongside Jodie Oddy, Hayesy has been forced to repeatedly step out of his comfort zone over the past couple of months.

He embraced this new challenge – suspenders, heels and all.

“What an experience with such an excellent bunch of people,” says Hayesy. “I can’t believe how natural it felt wearing heels and fish net stockings!”

Jodie added “I can honestly say that was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The cast of Rocky Horror were so beautiful and welcoming. I was so nervous for Haysey but he found his feet … so proud”

The 50th Anniversary production of The Rocky Horror Show is on at Festival Theatre in Adelaide until May 13, alas Jodie & Hayesy’s performance was for one night only!
