Middle East bound: Byron Cooke’s new Breakfast radio gig in Saudi Arabia

Reporter

Byron Cooke’s next big radio move has been revealed.

He’s off to the Middle East, to host his own Breakfast show in Saudi Arabia.

Cooke’s new radio home is MBC LOUD FM. His new breakfast show will be heard on the first English commercial radio station launched by MBC Group.

The Byron Cooke Show with Sana K will broadcast live from 6am to 10am Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 12pm on Saturdays.

The Melbourne broadcaster will finish up on KIIS FM tomorrow (Friday), as he prepares for his new gig on an English speaking commercial radio station.

In an interview with the Herald Sun (subscription required) Cooke says “This is life changing and the biggest opportunity of my career by a mile.”

“I’m going to give it everything.”

Cooke’s co-host Sana K is Sana Kothari, who was discovered in a nationwide search to find new radio talent on Virgin Radio in the UAE.

Cooke intends to learn Arabic and has every intention of being there for the long haul.

He had been holding the fort on KIIS Breakfast ahead of Kyle & Jackie O Show being networked into Melbourne from April 29.
