Mark ‘MG’ Geyer leaves Triple M Sydney

In light of Mark ‘MG’ Geyer not appearing on his breakfast show on Wednesday and Thursday to make the announcement himself, his Facebook page looks to have updated his employment status for us to ‘former locutor at Triple M Sydney 104.9′.

The rest of the breakfast crew including Mick Molloy (off to Triple M Melbourne breakfast next year) and Natarsha Belling have not mentioned his absence so, unless he’s headed for the Celebrity Jungle and this is a ploy to throw us all of the scent, it appears he won’t be part of station programming next year.

SCA has said we will know about the new Breakfast show in due course. Survey 7 had Mick and MG up 0,5 to a 5.1 audience share.

Can’t say it’d be any major surprise to hear MG will not be part of Triple M Sydney breakfast in 2025, but I wonder if the latest upheaval has ensured that Jimmy & Nath will return to 2DayFM brekky in January?

One assumes SCA would want to avoid having to launch TWO new Sydney brekky shows in 2025. But at the same time, they’ve clearly got to do something about both stations with the combined share of 104.1 and 104.9 during the most recent survey being lower than what WSFM, Smooth and KIIS received as single stations (at brekky and overall basis)!

Their show intro hasn’t changed since launching Mick in Sydney.
News has been out for ages that Mick is heading to Melb.
Even the MMM prod guys don’t care
