Leroy Brown to depart SCA for new role at 96three

Reporter

After three and a half years in Bendigo as SCA’s South Victorian Content Director, Leroy Brown is moving on.

He’s heading back to Christian radio as Content Director at Geelong community station 96three.

Leroy – previously an announcer, producer and Assistant Content Director and Melbourne’s 89.9 TheLight – tells Radio Today the 96three role is a great opportunity.

“It was time for a change,” he says.

“I love radio where you can make a difference.”

Leroy is no stranger to Geelong, having spent five years in the Victorian regional city as part of the K rock Breakfast team.

Leroy says he has gained a great deal through being a member of SCA’s leadership team over the past three years.

“Through the turbulent times of COVID, recruitment hurdles, and emergency broadcasts during flooding, I have witnessed first-hand the strength of our team and the unwavering support of our organisation.”

“SCA’s remarkable culture has been the catalyst for my growth as a leader. The nurturing environment, filled with trust, collaboration, and empowerment, has allowed me to rise to new heights.”

Leroy thanked SCA for believing in his potential and providing him with a platform to develop his leadership skills.

“It has been an honour to be part of a team that thrives on overcoming obstacles, embraces growth, and celebrates the success of each individual.”

“I am forever grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped me into the leader I am today.”
