Leah Tindale is joining Michael Ross on Triple M Southwest’s Michael & Angie for Breakfast show for the next twelve months.

Leah steps in for Angie Ayers, who begins her maternity leave on Monday, 18 August.

Leah is a familiar voice to Southwest listeners, having appeared as a regular guest on Michael & Angie for Breakfast and as the host of Rural Focus.

With experience as a journalist and host of the podcast Note to Self, Leah is never short of a good story to tell.

As Leah steps into Breakfast, Holly King will take over as host of Triple M’s Rural Focus. Holly joins Triple M following a stint as a creative writer with NOVA Entertainment and on-air roles across the ACE Radio Network and Perth’s RTRFM. She brings a strong blend of professional radio experience and first-hand agricultural insight, having grown up on a cropping farm in Lake Grace, WA.

Broadcast across Western Australia from 9-11am weekdays, Rural Focus covers the state’s agricultural and rural topics, including grain, beef, wine, dairy and sheep industries, as well as related political matters and market reports.

The show also reflects the agriculture calendar, focused on seasonal activities including harvest, seeding, shearing, lambing, spraying, field days and calving.

Angie said “Radio for me has always been about playing the soundtrack to the adventure that is our lives. For the next little while, my soundtrack might be switching from Barnsey to a bawling baby, but I’m excited for the biggest adventure of my life. I feel like I’ve grown up on the air across regional WA and have been lucky enough to share it with the like-minded legends that have tuned in every morning. From meeting my now-husband at ‘the world’s most remote outside broadcast’ in Karijini National Park, to sharing tales of waltzing my swag across the state to finding stories in every corner – WA is full of good eggs, and just to be clear, we’re all as mad as a bag of spiders. We wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Leah said “What an honour to keep the chair warm for the amazing Angie while she embarks on the adventure of parenthood. I can’t wait to spend more time with the incredible people of southern WA, keeping them informed and entertained in the early hours. Previously, making fun of Michael was just a hobby, and now I get to do it full time (and encourage our listeners to join in)!”

Holly said “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the SCA crew, and I’m looking forward to diving into all things Rural Focus! I grew up listening to Vin Dawes on the tractor with my dad on our wheatbelt farm, so it all feels a little surreal. I can’t wait to get started and get to know the SCA WA team!”

Angie will temporarily sign off from Triple M Southwest Breakfast tomorrow, Friday 15 August, before Leah joins Michael on the show from Monday 18 August.

Michael & Angie with Leah Tindale airs weekdays from 6–9am on Triple M Southwest and available to stream on LiSTNR.

Holly King begins hosting Rural Focus from Monday, 18 August, on Triple M and available to stream on LiSTNR.
