Kate Ritchie takes a break from Nova Sydney Breakfast

Kate Ritchie has confirmed she is taking a break from the Nova Sydney Breakfast show she co-hosts alongside Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli to focus on her health.

It follows intrusive tabloid photos of Kate – showing her visibly distressed – which were published online last week.

In a statement released on social media, Kate said she struggles with mental health issues at times, which has been made much worse by the relentless stalking of her by the paparazzi.

“The images of me taken last week show that I wasn’t okay on that day. To those profiting from invading my privacy, a simple questions – would you treat, say your sister, mother or daughter the same, if they had similar challenges?”

Kate thanked Nova and its listeners for their support.
