Just as much a person as a lawyer: Tony Hudson departs SCA
After almost ten years at SCA – six-and-a-half of those as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs – Tony Hudson is setting sail for life’s next adventure … but says he’s in no hurry to find out what the future holds.
Tony finished up at SCA at the end of last month.
On LinkedIn, he said “What’s planned is some Spanish lessons and doing the AICD’s Company Director course, followed by the privilege of five weeks walking the Camino Frances with my daughter and a holiday in Spain and Crete with my wife.”
“After that, there’s the unknown, and I’ll be ready.”
Along with his role in broadcast and digital media with Southern Cross Media, Tony sat on the boards and committees of Australia’s peak television and radio industry bodies, including Commercial Radio & Audio (CRA).
Some of his most rewarding experiences, though, have come through volunteering and charitable roles.
Tony served for six years as a director of SCA’s former in-house charity called Give Me Five for Kids, which raised funds for children’s health services in regional areas around Australia.
“It’s inspiring to support people who are passionate about a cause,” Tony said.
SCA colleagues expressed appreciation for Tony’s wise counsel, humility and calmness under pressure.
As one former workmate puts it: “You were just as much a person as a lawyer. SCA won’t be the same without you.”
This is wonderful because most lawyers are not – in fact- people.
Tony is the absolute best – a pleasure to work with.
