“I love the Olympics. I’m going to chase my Olympic dream” – Bill McDonald calls it quits on 4BC Mornings

Bill McDonald had a surprise for his listeners as he wrapped up his morning shift on 4BC. Today is his last day. Being part of the Paris Olympics calling the events with 2GB‘s Mark Levy has lit a fuse, and after a short break, Bill aims to be a core part of the build up to Brisbane 2032.

Bill was the bright spot for 4BC in the recent GfK Radio 360 Survey 5He was up 1.2 on mornings to a 5.5 audience share. Bill has spent three decades on TV before joining 4BC two years ago. Just over a month later Bill’s wife Julianne who he’s been married to for 30 year and has four sons with, died after a courageous battle with cancer.

The replacement for Bill will be made in due course. The show’s EP,  Jason Matthews, also an experience presenter, will fill in temporarily.
Bill has already been removed from the 4BC website alongside the Money News vacancy which has been running with an assortment of presenters since Deb Knight left at the end of June.
