Hobart: Xtra Insights Survey 1

Reporter

It’s been a pleasing result for 7HO FM in the first Hobart Survey for 2023.

It’s up from 21.0 to 22.2 overall, and went up from 19.9 to 21.1, to lead Breakfast from Hit 100.9, which saw a decline from 22.8 to 18.7.

7HO FM Content Director Allan Cameron says  “Incredibly proud of the on-air team who give their absolute best every single day entertaining, informing and most importantly giving Hobart a truly live and local radio station.”

Sarah, Mick and Johnno becoming Hobart’s #1 way to wake up and dominating workplaces is just outstanding!”

7HO FM General Manager Greg Scealy says “I’m so incredibly proud of our team.  We all live and breathe Hobart and that has clearly resonated with the people of Hobart, who have overwhelmingly voted with their ears!  7HOFM is truly, 100% Hobart.”

While Triple M fell slightly in Breakfast, it saw a rise overall, up from 9.3 to 10.7

Sca can’t be happy about Hobart. Those stations used to be so popular.

Why is Hobart surveyed as a regional station yet Newcastle, Gold Coast and Canberra are surveyed three times a year?

This survey reflects the SCA’s deep systemic problem. They are a damning indictment of the broader company’s management over the past 7-10 years.

SCA’s predecessor, Austereo, was once the content, creative, sales, promotion and performance pinnacle of commercial radio in Australia, but it has been completely lost under woeful SCA’s ownership.

The company’s share price has plummeted, its revenue has declined and its profit margins have shrunk. SCA has also been plagued by a number of management problems, including talent issues, rebranding failures, prank calls and failed streaming alliances. Big issues and too many.

In light of these problems, it is difficult to understand why SCA’s board has not yet forced a major shakeup of the company’s senior executives. Shareholders should be demanding a change in leadership, as SCA is clearly not being well-managed.

There best recent result was due to Job Keeper – which none was refunded.
