Tony Tardio’s legal stoush with 3AW has been settled.

The legendary newsreader took to social media last night, saying “We have peace in our time. After much argy bargy, Tardio v 3AW is resolved. Both parties are pleased with the outcome. Onwards and upwards.”

In January, Tardio’s employer Nine Radio (now Tapt Media) rejected any suggestion he had been sacked, telling Radio Today that, as part of a change to newsroom operations, his position had been made redundant.

Last month, Tardio announced he was taking his case to the Federal Court after Fair Work negotiations failed to reach a resolution.

The 66 year-old had claimed that, after 43 years of service, his employment had been terminated whilst he was on sick leave.

In an interview with Radio Today earlier this year, Tardio opened up about his absence from the Melbourne airwaves, saying he was both touched and humbled by the avalanche of support he’d received.
