Hayley Pearson’s driving skills exposed in Mix 102.3’s Wall of Truth segment
It’s been revealed that Hayley Pearson – co-host of Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning – has has clocked up $12,684 in driving fines over the past few years due to her “bad driving skills.”
This came to light during the show’s Wall of Truth segment yesterday, where Max Burford asked “Hayley, do you think you’re a good driver and why?”
Hayley responded that she thinks that she is a good driver 85% of the time.
“I drive all over South Australia, I’m talking regional roads, dirt roads … I feel really confident on the big country road drives. I feel more safe when I’m driving than someone else because I concentrate so hard.”
“When I’m in the business of the backstreets of Adelaide and my brain is probably thinking about other things, sometimes I do silly things, and have brain farts and make silly moves …”
Max’s question was inspired by the very first time that he experienced Hayley’s driving skills, after she had dropped him home from the airport after their trip to the Logies, explaining it was nice to have his feet “back on solid ground” after the car ride.
It’s claimed that after dropping Max home, Hayley continued to drive towards an oncoming car in Max’s quiet two-way street, screaming, “Wait! Stop! Help!” holding her hand in a stop sign as she continued to drive straight through, anticipating that that the other car would stop and pull over.
Then, as she left, she scraped her bonnet on the driveway and continued driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
Max said: “It was very funny, but we survived! Thanks to the car that pulled over!”
Hayley’s dad Wayne then jumped on the line, likening Hayley’s driving skills to those of Mr Magoo after the time she misjudged a right turn and her dad had to abruptly put the handbrake up in the middle of the intersection, holding up traffic, before Hayley got out of the car and walked home.
Max later revealed that Hayley would undergo a driving test at 9am with Adelaide School of Driving to assess her skills.
I personally don’t find it very funny that she’s not concentrating when driving. Surely that will endanger others
