Hauraki ‘we have been shit’

Staff Writer

One of the most iconic radio stations in New Zealand is Hauraki.

The station began its life as a pirate radio station broadcasting from the Hauraki Gulf in the 60's, and has been playing rock music of one kind or another since that time.

However, the TRN owned Hauraki has been getting a significant touch-up from Mediaworks 'The Rock' for the past few years, and so something had to change.

You can see the teaser video to the new Hauraki below.

The most recent survey in Auckland showed 'The Rock' in 7th position overall on a 5.1% share, and Hauraki in 16th position on a 1.6% share.

With the final piece of the lineup now in place, new Breakfast presenter Martin Devlin, Hauraki's new music approach and lineup will launch next Monday 7 January.
