Reporter

Hamish & Andy have reclaimed their spot as the nation’s top podcast, reaching almost 845,000 listeners in March, according to the latest Triton Digital Australian Podcast Ranker.

LiSTNR has 20 podcasts in the top 50 of the Top 200 Australian Podcast Ranker.

They include Hamish & Andy, which moved back into number one spot with 873,584 monthly listeners and also claimed the number one comedy podcast. In addition, The Howie Games rose nine places to reach 228,102 monthly listeners and It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield moved up one position to reach 206,565 listeners.

SCA Executive Head LiSTNR Podcasts Grant Tothill says “LiSTNR has again shown audience growth across its owned and operated podcast slate and grown from February to March.”

“Hamish & Andy has returned to the number one position after a full month of publishing and LiSTNR remains the number one sales representation network. To see growth of our radio podcasts along with our original crime, popular culture, and sport podcasts, along with the debut of A Life of Greatness and Footy Talk – Rugby League is very encouraging.”

The ABC remains the number 3 podcast publisher in the ranker, with 31 titles featured in the March list.

Three ABC titles return to the list, Roy and HG – Bludging on the Blindside at number 64 and Ladies, We Need To Talk at number 162.

Saturday Extra also rejoined the list this month at number 196 with its weekend partner Sunday Extra making a healthy jump of 30 places to land at number 102.

ABC Head of Audio Ben Latimer says “The ABC has hit our stride in the ranker, having maintained our number 3 publisher position since our debut late last year.”

“We’re now turning our attention to growing some of the key areas of interest for our audience. Last month, we made several appointments to bolster our audio on demand team including two roles focused on true crime.”
