Graham Miles takes up the GM role at SRN
Graham Miles has been appointed Group General Manager of the SUPER RADIO NETWORK following the recent passing of its enigmatic owner, Bill Caralis.
Mr Miles will oversee Australia’s largest privately owned group of 42 commercial radio stations.
His remarkable 35 plus year career in the radio industry includes 30 years in senior management positions across all departments including long GM at Hot Tomato, on the Gold Coast.
Working from the network’s headquarters at Tweed Heads together with managing directors, Despina Priala (nee Caralis) and George Caralis he will spearhead initiatives to further strengthen the SRN’s collective market power across regional NSW, QLD and Alice Springs in the NT.
Radio Today understands that the Caralis heirs are keen to reinvigorate the network. They are looking to instal a new local breakfast show at 2SM in Sydney and find a replacement for John Laws.
The planned re-instatement of a local brekky show in Sydney (after nearly three years of simulcasting Richard King from 2HD!) would appear to be a sign the new management team might want 2SM to be taken as a serious/credible media outlet in this city again, although I wonder if they’ll go as far as having 2SM participate in Sydney’s GfK surveys in 2025 after a two decade+ absence from the ratings?
Either way, I think this is likely to be very good news for the Super Radio Network. One assumes Graham, Despina and George may also know the online/digital presence of their stations isn’t the greatest, so might have improving that as another priority.
Yes,
Looks more like the WOKING of 2SM.
It appears the new management team don’t have what Bill had, B…S, axing long running shows replacing with controlled content!
