Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show has reclaimed its crown as Melbourne’s #1 FM Breakfast show in the latest radio ratings.

Ahead of the show’s national expansion in 2026, GfK Survey 5 of the year saw the on-air team of Christian O’Connell, Patrina Jones, Riordan ‘Rio’ Lee and new recruit Alex Cullen hold steady with a 10.1 share, putting it just a smidge ahead of previous brekky leaders, Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren (-0.8% to a 10.0 share).

In further good news for the powers-that-be at ARN, Kyle & Jackie O not only reclaimed their title as Sydney’s #1 Breakfast show overall, the KIIS duo continued their growth in Melbourne, increasing their share to 6.1%, picking up 2100 in cume and now reaching 443,000 listeners.

K & J’s share rise in Melbourne of 0.5% was the biggest of any of the FM stations.

ARN Chief Audience & Content Officer Lauren Joyce said “Today’s results are a clear sign of the momentum we’re building. From Christian O’Connell reclaiming #1 in Melbourne to Kyle & Jackie O cementing their place as Australia’s biggest show … ARN is delivering audiences in Australia’s biggest markets and right across the country.”

Triple M’s Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie enjoyed its second consecutive survey boost, rising 0.3% to 7.7 and growing its audience by 8,000.

Overall, though, 3AW continues to rule the roost in Melbourne Breakfast radio, with Ross & Russ lifting their share a whopping 2.4%to 19.0.

The AM talkback station also enjoyed significant share gains across Mornings, Afternoons and Drive.
