Gold standard: Special award for 2TM and 92.9’s Jon Wolfe

Long-time radio presenter and journalist Jon Wolfe has been honoured at the Golden Fiddle Awards, receiving the 2025 Community Service Award during the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The award recognises Jon’s commitment to Australian country music and artists over many decades, as well as his support of fiddle players across genres such as folk, bluegrass and country – plus vocalists, songwriters and other musicians.

Jon says he’s honoured and humbled to receive the award, as he considers the fiddle one of the backbone instruments of the industry.

“The fiddle is so important to the music, and we have so many great fiddlers here in Australia and so many have their own individual styles. The sound of the fiddle is just so fundamental to country and folk music.”

Jon is currently part of the 2TM/92.9FM radio broadcast team and is the Vice Chair of the Country Music Association of Australia.

He has also been awarded the 2024 ICMA Grant Goldman Memorial Award, which was named in honour of the former 2TM and Super Radio Network announcer, for his outstanding contribution to Australian country music.
