Farewell fit for a prince: Jack Post leaves The Christian O’Connell Show in horse-drawn carriage

In a farewell fit for a prince, Jack Post officially departed Gold 104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show this morning in a horse-drawn carriage.

Part of the team alongside Christian O’Connell and Patrina Jones since day one, Jack announced live on-air this week that he’d decided to leave the top-rating Melbourne Breakfast show after seven years.

And Christian organised a very fitting surprise to send him off in style.

A horse-drawn carriage – with Jack’s wife Bianca and son Gordon on board – was waiting outside Gold 104.3’s Richmond studios after the show to take the family home … complete with a ‘JUST QUIT’ sign trailing behind.

Jack said “It’s been a roller coaster of emotions, definitely where I’m excited and giddy, like, wow, I don’t like these alarms aren’t going to be waking me up in the morning … then the rollercoaster also drops down into the depths, and I feel sad that I won’t see you guys [in the studio].”

Christian said “I know you, Jack, you will find something worthy of your huge talents. I don’t think it’s the last time you and I work together as well.”

Patrina said “I love you, Jack. And I think we’ve grown together on air, and I just. I love you so much. And you go with so much love and warmth, and we’re going to miss you. It’s the end of an era for the show.”

Producer Rio said “I’ve spent probably more time with you, Jack and Christian in the last six years than probably anyone else on planet Earth. If I could run it back a thousand times, I’d do it with you again. I love you so much.”

I thought I would say I hope Jack post is signed by Nova 100 to partner with Mel Tracina from 9 am till 2 pm it is less growing because it is mid morning. It is easier for him. He can do more in the morning. Have breakfast before he comes to work and when he’s finished his work He can have a late lunch after 2 pm. That would be a different look to his days. He will get up around about 530 or six not 430 or 330. He was starting at 9 am instead of 6 am he would finish at 2 pm instead of 9 am? No management? I hope will call him with the offer and hope he takes it up.
