Dream Sea FM gig for Gold Coast teen

A Gold Coast teenager who’s landed an announcing gig with 90.9 Sea FM says it’s a dream come true.

The Gold Coast Bulletin reports Loues Vollmer caught the station’s attention late last year with his hugely popular TikTok videos.

Seventeen year old Loues is now presenting the station’s weekend music line up, and he’s having the time of his life.

“This is so exciting, it’s definitely a big step,” Loues tells the paper.

“I’ve been wanting to do radio presenting ever since I was little.”

A viral TikTok video proved a turning point.

“One of them blew up and got around 250,000 views,” Loues says.

“Then I got this message telling me to get in touch with Sea FM, so I emailed them.”

A week long work placement followed and Loues now works after school on Fridays, doing pre-records for his weekend shift.

Loues say the job’s a perfect fit for him.

“Radio is just so fun – I love music and I love talking about music.”

Loues can be heard on air Sundays from 2pm to 6pm.
