Digging Deeper: Legendary community radio station 3RRR launches annual fundraiser
It’s the legendary community radio station where the likes of Dave Hughes, Dave O’Neil, Kate Langbroek, Ross Stevenson, John Safran and the Coodabeen Champions cut their teeth.
Almost 50 years since it first started broadcasting, Melbourne’s 3RRR has helped shaped the journeys of many working in the industry today.

Now, the station’s annual fundraising drive is in full flight.
3RRR prides itself on delivering independent, free-range radio. This year’s Radiothon theme of Digging Deeper is a true testament to the volunteers who each day uncover musical and cultural gems, unearthing issues that don’t get airtime anywhere else.
The slogan is also a reminder 3RRR’s listeners, subscribers, and donors to dig as deep as possible to keep the station alive and thriving for another year.

Local artist and Split System bassist Deon Slaviero provided this year’s Radiothon artwork, with high profile musos like Dave Graney popping by to lend their support.
Radiothon 2025 runs all the way through until 5pm on Wednesday 24 September. More info on how to support 3RRR here.
