Content idea goes gangbusters for K rock’s Tim & Jess

Reporter

What started out as a ‘little content idea’ has taken on a life of its own for K rock’s Tim & Jess.

The popular Geelong Drive duo witnessed the true power of radio this week, when they decided to recreate a pie they’d heard about.

Apparently a servo in New Zealand’s been serving up spag bol pies.

Tim and Jess wanted to come up with an Aussie version, so – with the help of Sam from legendary local bakery Routley’s – the team carefully crafted the masterpiece that is the spag bol pie.

There was a live tasting on air (as well as in the K rock office).

On sale from 8am yesterday at Routley’s North Geelong store, there were just over 100 pies available.

Despite no signage and no other advertisements, by 2pm, every single pie had been snapped up.

Not only that, the idea proved such a hit, Routley’s has decided to keep making them.

The Tim & Jess Spag Bol Pie will now be available at ALL Routley’s stores and wholesalers from next week.

Tim and Jess thanked Media Sales Executive Sarah Milgate for helping them to get the idea over the line, and making it happen so quickly.

“Three points for Sarah this month!”
