Christian O’Connell hosts exclusive ‘Winner Winner Sinner Dinner’

This morning on GOLD104.3’s The Christian O’Connell Show, the team shared all the highlights from last night’s Winner Winner Sinner Dinner.

Following the Australian Open, Christian and the team have been obsessed with Melbourne’s most talked-about pizza – the Margherita from La Pizzeria in Beaumaris.

Christian, Jack and Pats’ curiosity was piqued when they discovered that World No. 1 tennis player Jannik Sinner makes a point of visiting this family-run pizzeria every year during the AO.

After road testing it themselves, Christian decided to take things up a notch – loading a bus full of lucky listeners and heading to La Pizzeria for an exclusive dinner.

Throughout the week, listeners called in to share why they deserved a seat at the table. From a 36th wedding anniversary celebration to pizza afficionados, Christian said  “We literally took over this pizza restaurant. They opened up for the night in a big, long family feast table.”

“I mean, the atmosphere was brilliant and there were three generations of Sardinians, including a little three year old boy, the grandson Pierro, this beautiful little boy all working there last night.”

“They didn’t stop topping everyone’s drinks up. More and more pizzas … I haven’t had any carbs for like two and a half weeks. I made up for it last night. I had carbs coming out my eyes and ears!”
