Blues train: New AFL honour for Leisel Jones

Reporter

When the Blues do battle with the Swans in tonight’s AFL elimination final, no-one will be cheering harder than Leisel Jones.

The four time Olympian was recently bestowed another honour, named as Carlton’s No.1 ticket holder, along with Aussie tennis great Dylan Alcott.

It’s been an incredible few weeks for Leisel, who hosts Triple M Brisbane’s The Rush Hour alongside Ben Dobbin and Liam Flanagan.

Not only was Leisel recently honoured with a street in her name, she’s also up for Best New Radio Talent at this year’s ACRAs.

Leisel – who became a Blues supporter back in 2008, when she was based in Melbourne ahead of the Beijing Olympics – says she’s thrilled to be Carlton’s No.1 ticket holder.

In making the announcement, Carlton President Luke Sayers said “To have an athlete of her calibre be involved with our club is very inspiring.”
