Beyond the standard radio interview: Seany B launches In Session podcast

Reporter

Respected radio voice and passionate music champion Seany B, aka Sean Brown, is getting behind the mic for a brand new project – In Session – a podcast dedicated to in-depth artist conversations that go beyond the standard radio interview.

Seany B sits down with artists to explore the stories, inspiration and creative decisions behind their music – without the time constraints of a 3–5 minute on-air chat.

Seany B is no stranger to the Australian music scene. Known for his work across the Hit Network, including hosting The Pulse nationally on Sunday nights and the workday show on 2Day FM Sydney, he’s built a reputation for his encyclopaedic music knowledge, warmth on air and ability to get artists talking.

His resume includes stints at Hobart’s Hit100.9, Newcastle’s Hot106.9, and an impressive list of interviews with everyone from Guy Sebastian and Mariah Carey to Doechii, Olivia Dean, Lola Young, G Flip and Dom Dolla.

Seany B said “Music is the reason I do radio. It’s my dream to talk about music every day and celebrate artists and their craft. I’ve been interviewing artists for years – from hosting The Pulse nationally to now being part of the 2Day 1041 rebrand – and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created. Right now, we’re doing something that isn’t traditionally done in commercial radio – playing artist interviews in the workday. On top of that, we’re playing more Australian music than any other commercial station in the country and more new music than anyone else. Supporting the music industry is so important to me, and I always want to be doing the most to give artists a platform.”

In Session launched on LiSTNR in August and is available wherever you get your podcasts. You can listen to the first two episodes now, featuring Hilltop Hoods and Guy Sebastian.
