Australian radio networks support cerebral palsy research

Reporter

Australia’s radio networks have thrown their support behind a marquee event to raise funds for people living with cerebral palsy.

The Cerebral Palsy Alliance will next month host ‘The Retreat’ in Melbourne.

The Retreat builds on three decades support from the Aussie media industry for CPA’s annual event, which raises more than $1.5 million annually for people with cerebral palsy – the most common physical disability in childhood, affecting more than 34,000 Australians.

Teeing off with an exclusive golf day, the weekend-long fundraiser is supported by a host of media organisations, including Nine, ARN, Southern Cross Austereo and NOVA Entertainment.

Ian Mayer, who has been part of the alliance for more than 25 years has thanked the media industry for its support, and says the funds raised will make a significant difference to people living with CP.
