Andrew ‘Robbo’ Robinson steps away from the mic after 4000 shows as new host joins Breakfast

Andrew ‘Robbo’ Robinson from the Vision Christian Radio breakfast show Rise & Shine, will pack up the mic after over 4000 shows and welcome new talent in his place.

Robbo joined Vision Christian Radio in 2001, doing nine years between 2001-2010 before leaving and coming back for Breakfast in 2015 where he joined long-time Breakfast host Becci Johnstone in 2016.

Andrew will head into his new management position and welcome radio and online Christian personality DJ Paine to take over on Rise & Shine with Becci.

Previously, DJ Paine worked on 96three FM’s Breakfast show in Geelong and the online startup, TheTelly.live.

He never thought his life would be guided back to Queensland.

“If you had told me two months ago that I would be moving my life back to South East Queensland to work at Vision’s national studios I would have laughed in your face, but thank goodness God had other plans,” Paine said.

“This new opportunity to work for the incredible ministry of Vision is truly a match made in heaven and I can’t wait to work with Becci.”

DJ is an early adopter of new technology, starting his first podcast in 2005, joining Twitter in late 2006 and being a beta tester for many start-ups and apps.

Vision CEO Phil Edwards said he is looking forward to bringing DJ Paine to the show.

“We see this move as part of a new era of growth for Vision, and we believe that DJ is the right personality for breakfast as we begin our first steps into the world of digital broadcast radio for the very first time,” Edwards said.

“Both Vision Christian Radio and our music station V180 Radio are coming to the city of Brisbane via DAB+ Digital in April.”
