Australian Podcast of the Year is open to all locally produced podcasts to enter. This award recognises the most innovative podcast in Australia during the eligibility period, with an emphasis on audience and revenue growth, and diversification such as events.

 

 

Radio Show Podcast of the Year is open to podcasts that first aired on broadcast radio. This award recognises shows that appeal to the podcast audience. A key factor in judging will be the format of the podcast and how it has been adapted for podcast platforms.

 

 

Podcast Executive Leader of the Year is open to individuals who are currently in a c-suite level leadership role including, but not limited to, the CEO, COO, CPO and CMO.

 

Podcast Thought Leader of the Year is open to individuals driving innovation and acceptance of audio on demand within Australia. This category is not just restricted to content makers, it might be an executive who is leading the charge, an employee who is driving engagement with clients or a content maker that is championing the cause.

 

Podcast Host or Presenter of the Year is open to individuals who currently front a podcast series, and who clearly understand the art of audio storytelling. The individual should have an inquisitive mind and connect with their audience and guests with a unique personality.

 

 

Branded Podcast of the Year is open to all locally produced and brand-funded podcasts. This award recognises the most creative and effective use of a podcast by a brand, agency, or organisation.

 

 

Podcast Sales Executive of the Year is open to individuals who have sold podcasting products to brands and agencies. This individual should be a podcasting fanatic and sector ambassador who shows excellence in driving new revenues at for the medium.

 

Podcast Executive Producer of the Year category is open to individuals who are currently the EP of a podcast series who have pushed the boundaries of content creation to grow audience share and engagement.

 

 

Podcast Series Producer of the Year is open to individuals who currently produce a series of podcasts, or podcast series. A series is not a weekly podcast that is released each week but more a serial podcast that has a set number of episodes.

 

Podcast Audio Producer of the Year is open to individuals who are currently overseeing the audio production and/or sound design – including the mixing,   and shaping of an Australian podcast.

 

 

Podcast Company of the Year is open to organisations of any size or type within the podcast sector including, but not limited to, publishers, platforms and agencies. This award will recognise the most innovative organisation in podcasting during the eligibility period.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Podcast Publisher of the Year (major) is open to media organisations that have a public-facing podcast strategy and produce in excess of 10 original podcasts. During the eligibility period, major publishers must have averaged over two million combined downloads per month across all of their titles and they must produce these podcasts in-house.

 

Podcast Publisher of the Year (indie) is open to media organisations that have a public-facing podcast strategy and produce less than 10 original podcasts. During the eligibility period, indie publishers must have averaged under two million combined downloads per month across all of their titles and they must produce these podcasts in-house.

 

Podcast Network / Platform of the Year is open to organisations that have a public-facing audio-first platform using proprietary technology, where consumers can discover and consume exclusive and/or non-exclusive podcast content from creators.

 

Podcast Hardware / Software of the Year is open to organisations that have developed Australian-owned hardware and/or software using proprietary technology for the benefit of the podcast sector.

 

The RØDE Prize is different to all the other categories. The winner receives a bundle of RØDE podcast products, worth more than $2,000. It includes their very latest flagship product, the RØDECaster Pro II mixer, a Procaster microphone, a PSA1+ Studio Arm, NTH-100 Headphones plus cables and accessories for a fully professional podcasting setup.

The winner is Ciaran Moffat from Adelaide who described in 50 words or less how  his work would benefit from winning The RØDE Prize. He wrote:

“The RØDE Prize would enhance my interviews, giving them a more streamlined and professional quality and allowing me to focus on creating more and better content. It would give me an unparalleled level of control and freedom over my recordings which would help me entice guests and attract more listeners.”
