AFL boss explains Snoop Dogg’s Grand Final show on Triple M’s Mick in the Morning

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon joined Triple M’s Mick in the Morning today to discuss the Grand Final Day entertainment, Snoop Dogg and the imminent prospect of State of Origin.

Dillon expressed his excitement about Snoop Dogg joining Grand Final festivities, explaining that whilst the AFL approached a “number of artists”, Snoop Dogg was “at the top of our list.”

Dillon also hinted that some big guest stars could be joining Snoop Dogg, who has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.

Dillon “broke his silence” on the news gripping the AFL community over the past 24 hours … Bailey Smith and Tammy Hembrow’s budding romance, of course.

Smith and Henbrow have dominated the headlines following the release of photos showing them holding hands in public.

Dillon gave his tick of approval, wishing the couple well.

He also revealed the AFL is actively working on bringing back State of Origin – flagging it could be as soon as next pre-season.

“We’re in conversations [to bring back State of Origin] and have been for a while. I’d love to see representative footy back, and we had a great game with the Indigenous All Stars at the start of the year. If we could get a game up pre-season next year, I’d be working towards that at the moment.”

Listen to Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie on Melbourne’s 105.1 Triple M from 6-9am each weekday, also on LiSTNR.
