ABC Classic is heralding the arrival of 2025 with the introduction of four new programs.

What’s On with Alice Keath will share a listener’s guide to Australia‘s best classical concerts and live performances in their communities, airing Wednesday from 6pm.

Music Class with Genevieve Lang and Ed Le Brocq (Saturday at 12pm) will answer questions about classical music.

Peaceful Piano (9pm Sunday) and Wind Down (Weekdays from 11pm) will both be hosted by musician and storyteller Taj Aldeeb, while Martin Buzzacott returns to ABC Classic to host Weekend Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 12pm.

ABC Classic also welcomes new presenter and award-winning First Nations soprano Nina Korbe to The Musical Show at 8pm on Sundays.

Elsewhere across the station, the following program time changes will commence from Monday 20 January:

  • Classic Breakfast with Dr Megan Burslem will air from Monday-Friday 6am-9am

Today, ABC Classic also unveils this year’s Classic 100 countdown theme: ‘Piano,’ and is asking Australian music lovers for their favourite pieces for the piano.

2025 at ABC Jazz will see presenters Eric Ajaye (Jazz Legends), Monica Trapaga (The Dinner Set), Mal Stanley (Jazztrack and Jazztrack Live) and James Valentine (Upbeat) all return for another year.

The Artist in Residence will extend this year to include a new music performance, with each featured artist invited into the ABC Jazz studio for a solo recording session. The new edition of the program will launch in February 2025 with saxophonist Mike Rivett.
