2TM celebrates 88 years of broadcasting

Reporter

Celebrations are afoot this week, as 2TM in Tamworth celebrates 88 years on air.

Not only was 2TM Tamworth’s first radio station, it’s also one of oldest businesses still in operating in the New South Wales city today.

The station shares its birthday (February 27) with Program Director Jarrad Brooke, so the 2TM team surprised Jarrad on the day by all turning up to work dressed just like him!

Congratulations 2TM …. 4 of my happiest years were spent on air in Tamworth including many happy hours in the Longyard. Played for the mighty Tamworth Rugby and was always fun taking on the Pirates … and playing away at Walcha , Quirindi , Moree etc … unfortunately never won a comp … Hope you guys have a great celebration .. Cheers , Stretto’
