Toni Kipa departs as 2DayFM Breakfast EP
Toni Kipa is looking forward to some well-earned sleep-ins as she takes a break from breakfast radio.
Kipa has confirmed she is departing her role as Executive Producer of Sydney’s 2DayFM Breakfast show, posting to LinkedIn “Time to hang up the headphones on breakfast radio for a hot min! It’s been a wild ride as EP at 2DayFM, from navigating show changes to transitioning a station rebrand. It’s safe to say it’s been fulfilling and geniunely transformative.”
“Excited for the next adventure, but for now, some sleep!”
Kipa’s proudest moments include sending Swifties into meltdown over an exclusive chat with Ed Kelce, securing a viral interview with Tiger King’s Joe Exotic (straight from prison) and project managing two reality dating series Dating in the Dark and Flirtin’ Behind the Curtain.
Previously, Kipa was the Executive Producer for two ARN network shows – The Pick Up with Brittany Hockley, Laura Byrne & Mitch Churi and The Night Show with Mitch Churi.
Kipa’s departure from her SCA role after two years continues a period of change for 2DayFM’s Jimmy & Nath with Emma Breakfast show.
Last week, Jimmy Smith announced he was stepping away from his role as co-host to focus on his mental health.
Toni is immensely talented and a loss to the industry.
It’s interesting that a couple of producers seem to have resigned from working with Jimmy & Nath now without another job is lined up
I don’t have any insider information to share however based on Toni’s departure as well as Jimmy’s last week (not to mention the dismal ratings for most of this year…) it’d seem reasonably likely that we might be talking about an announcement of “An exciting new 2DayFM breakfast show for 2026!” between now and mid-January.
Yaz and Feras are coming for breakfast….
