4BH now the Number 2 station in Brisbane! It’s obvious there’s a glaring gap in Brisbane on FM for a Gold or Smooth format. Why on earth isn’t 97.3 jumping on it??? Baffling.
No major surprise IMO that Smooth 95.3’s More Music Breakfast Show with Bogart Torelli and Emma Duxbury has become Sydney’s new #1 FM brekky program. It was pretty much an inevitability following Jonesy & Amanda’s shift to Drive then the Kyle & Jackie O implosion.
With Ty Frost shooting up to 15% in Sydney between 9am and Midday while Mark Levy lost 1.8%, how long until the Laundys do a major review of 2GB Mornings?
Even though KIIS 1065 lost 3.5% at breakfast during the first post-K&JO survey, I’d personally be far more concerned about the future of 2DayFM brekky. Nath & Emma’s ratings really should’ve gone up (especially as they had a major ad push this survey), but instead they’re only 0.3% ahead of interstate-based Cathy Jubb on 2UE’s Classic Hits Breakfast.
Speaking of 2UE, maybe it’d be a good idea for them to re-introduce a voice-tracked night shift. I’m sure it’s no coincidence that Smooth 95.3 is within breathing distance of 2GB when the top ranked music station actually has a voice on after 7pm!
ARN can at least be pleased that Christian O’Connell’s Sydney ratings went up, but the fact J&A are now #1 at Drive in both cities still makes me wonder if a better idea would’ve been to network Sydney breakfast and push COC to Drive which would probably also be more compatible with the new Karl & Eddie show on Fridays.
2Day music format- great, maybe play less “rnb Fridays” hits…but It needs to be said..
Nath doesn’t work for breakfast, sorry! Emma is great but not with Nath, no chemistry at all…
