Open slather in Sydney FM Breakfast for GfK Survey 3
If Sydney’s FM Breakfast radio scene were a footy league, it would be open slather: new teams not long in the comp and the reigning premiers already punted out and watching from the grandstand.
To coin a footy phrase – it’s anyone’s game and an upset could be on the cards when GfK Survey 3 results come out tomorrow (Thursday, June 11th).

When ARN controversially did the big trade in January this year – moving Gold 101.7 Breakfast duo Jonesy & Amanda to Drive in order to accommodate the national expansion of The Christian O’Connell Show – the fallout was significant.
Five months on, we see Jonesy & Amanda thrive in National Drive, however O’Connell – whilst still hugely competitive in his home market of Melbourne – has yet to strike a chord with his new Sydney audience.
It will be interesting to see whether he makes some inroads in Survey 3.
This book is historic in that it will be the first survey in more than two decades that doesn’t feature Kyle and Jackie O on air together.

Nova is hoping it’s new Sydney Breakfast combo of Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell can build on their Survey 2 result – which saw the show achieve a 9.0% share – Nova’s strongest Sydney Breakfast share result in 17 years.
SCA will also be looking to build on some promising Survey 2 results for its Sydney Breakfast shows.
The most recent book saw 2DayFM’s Nath & Emma continue to make ground – up 0.3% to a 3.9 share in Breakfast, with a 44,000 pick up in cume – while the Triple M Sydney Breakfast team of Beau, Cat & Woodsy gained half a share point to now sit at 5.5.
A clear winner may or may not emerge, but in the tradition of all the great sideshows – the spin doctors will make sure every child wins a prize.
GfK Survey 3 results will land at 9.30am tomorrow and Radio Today will have all the spin, analysis and reaction.
I think KIIS breakfast will be fine…maybe drop up to 1%…
I hope Triple M Sydney breakfast will gain something… They are so good! (Almost the Melbourne quality level).
