“Okay, so it still hasn’t sunk in that I’ve won yet. That announcement made me emotional, haha!”

23-year-old Chelsea Barber from Mannum is still coming down to earth after being crowned the winner of Generation Fresh and presented with a sash by Fresh 927 Breakfast hosts Tom and Callum in Adelaide this morning.

Chelsea – a relief teacher, small business owner and social media content creator – hosts a podcast called Going Off Script.

Last week, each of the five Generation Fresh finalists took turns co-hosting the Fresh 927 brekky show.

Guest judges Ben and Liam (pictured above with Fresh 927 Content Director Sean Craig Murphy) picked Chelsea as the winner because of her creative ideas and natural sound.

“She came to the final round with the complete package. Her skill with callers was fantastic and she was able to hold her own with Tom and Callum,” they said.

Chelsea’s prize includes a weekend show on Fresh 927 and a scholarship to the Australian Radio School Masterclass later this year, plus a serious chance to be in the running for the next full time on-air paid gig at Fresh.

24-year-old optometrist Christina Karapetis was the runner up, with psychic medium Nicci Eloise taking third place.
