“She won’t be here all week.” Extended absence for Jackie O
Jackie O Henderson is again absent from the KIIS Network’s Kyle & Jackie O Show this morning, and will be away for at least another week, following her much-publicised on-air falling out with Kyle Sandilands.
Sandilands himself was away unwell last Thursday.
Anyone who tuned in to the first few minutes of this morning’s show might have been forgiven for thinking they’d accidentally stumbled across 2GB, with US politics front and centre as Kyle and newsreader Brooklyn Ross discussed at length the weekend attacks on Iran‘s leadership and military.
Confirming Jackie is again a no-show today, Sandilands – tongue firmly in cheek – said:
“Oh, it’s a shame Jackie’s not here – she won’t be here all week again, everyone, for those monitoring – because these are great stories she would have loved.”
News of Jackie’s extended absence comes on the same day that former SCA Content boss Dave Cameron is officially due to join ARN as its Director of Content – Metro Radio, overseeing content and programming strategy across the KIIS and GOLD metro radio networks.
Meanwhile, on Melbourne’s 3AW Breakfast, entertainment reporter Peter Ford revealed that he had received an exclusive tip about the future of the Kyle & Jackie O show.
Ford told Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft: “I’m told there’s a very, very long and very dark cloud hanging over the future.”
Towards the end of today’s show, Kyle hit back at 3AW with a jibe about 3AW’s audience.
“There’s a competition about counting the number of Cheezles in a box… 3AW listeners will win that, their lives are so boring they have enough time to count how many are in the box.”

Kyle wasn’t away on Friday, it was Thursday.
Thank you. Amended.
Hope their contract is torn up and paid out and they get some better hosts
Imagine being so hard to work with that $50k a day can’t convince someone to turn up for a 3 hour shift. Given the company financials you’d have to wonder if someone in accounting at ARN is running the numbers and seeing an opportunity.
She’s playing the long game. Pulls out the workplace bullying card, gets a massive payout and walks way without doing the whole 10 years. Well played.
It’s over.
