Bianca Dye is no longer under contract at ARN
Media personality Bianca Dye has departed Australian Radio Network, for good.
Dye left 92.5FM on the Gold Coast in 2016 to replace Robin Bailey at 97.3FM, who famously moved to rival Brisbane station Triple M days after her contract was not renewed by ARN executives.
But when Bailey returned to the open market after leaving radio to spend more time with her late husband she eventually patched things up with ARN bosses, leaving Dye out to dry.
Radio Today can now exclusively reveal that Dye and ARN have finally officiated their split.
“I can’t complain, it’s all been fine,” Dye told me via text message in May. “It’s bizarrely fine. When I can talk I will, and hopefully, that’s going to be pretty soon. All is good though.”
Last December ARN announced that Dye would leave the 97.3FM Breakfast show to make way for Bailey’s return, adding that Dye would remain in the family. But nothing concrete eventuated.
“I understand that change is part of working in this industry and while I will miss the Breakfast show I’m looking forward to what lies ahead…,” Dye told me last December.
Dye, who lives on the Gold Coast, just celebrated 25 years in radio. She’s kept a relatively low profile while on gardening leave but did appear on Katrina Blowers’ podcast earlier this month.
When asked by the Channel Seven newsreader where she plans to be in 10 years, Dye said she would love to be hosting her own national radio show “where I get to inspire women daily”.
Hit GC Breaky then?
I wish her well hosting Hit on the Gold Coast
