“I think this has all turned into a circus.” Kyle Sandilands gets his day in court

Kyle Sandilands says he wants to “get back to work as quick as possible,” after his legal battle with former employer ARN Media was heard in the Federal Court in Sydney for the first time today.

The case follows the on-air falling out with ex-co-host Jackie O Henderson, which in turn led to the collapse of the KIIS Network’s Kyle & Jackie O Show and ultimately, the termination of Sandilands’ $100 million contract.

As he made his way into court this morning, Sandilands told a huge waiting media pack that the last few weeks had been “traumatic.”

“I’m just happy we could get in today and get the ball rolling,” he said outside the court. “I want to get back to work as quick as possible. I’ve got a family to support.”

The company disputes claims that the termination is invalid.

Upon leaving the court, Sandilands said that, contrary to some reports, he hadn’t been able to speak to his former co-host.

“Everyone says things from time to time, especially with people that you’re close with and it’s unfortunate it worked out that way.”

“She understands, we’ve had blow ups before. Her on me, me on her. We just get over it usually.

“I think this has all turned into quite a circus.”

Sandilands’s lawyer requested that the matter be fast-tracked. A case management hearing will take place on 24th April with hearing dates 22-26 June reserved for the Hearing.
